Travel

One thing I have is a bad case of wanderlust. when I was younger, being an over the road trucker helped.
but having a wife and three small children at home it wasn't best to be away and more or less making my now ex-wife raise the kids alone.
These days I now have three grown AWESOME daughter, who I love very much,
and so I have a motorcycle.
Riding my motorcycle helps with this... whether I ride a 400 mile day or I travel across the country.
But there's something about getting out and getting wind therapy..
Sometimes just twisting that throttle and rolling down a two lane road can really help the head.
Interstate highways are great for making time, but it's getting off the freeway and riding the two lane
highways is where it really is for me..
I recently rode back from Sturgis SD  home to the Minneapolis MN area, on Hwy 34 East, to Miller SD, then turned north on Hwy 45 to Hwy 212 east.
This gave me a lot of time to think, time to "stop and smell the roses"
I got to meet different people, 67 miles from Pierre SD, I stopped for gas at a place I wouldn't normally
have stopped at expect that I had a quarter tank of gas and a sign said next 61 miles.
So I turned around and went to this questionable place...
it was a gravel lot and old 70's gas pumps,  I purchased enough gas to comfortably make it Pierre.
The place really didnt look like much on the outside.. but once in side, I was greeted by some young ladies.
and the was the smell of smoke..   So I asked about the smoke,  they informed me it was for the pulled pork..  DAMN!  some is talking my language!
The place was owned by a woman name Trudy and her Husband..
they bought a burned down place with a 4 gas pumps.  15yrs ago, two  weeks before the Sturgis rally..
They got a tent, and power so they could sell gas. they sold BBQ, pop and beer..
the next year they put up a building and today it's called T's place on 34..
If you find yourself 67 miles west of Pierre SD on Hwy 34 stop in and experience Trudy's place!
This is some of the Americana I have experienced on the backroads of life..

Where to start?

So after some saddle time in South Dakota, I find my mind wandering to different things...
Travel, Religion, Politic's, and then it started to wander and I thought I should maybe put some of my
wild and crazy thoughts into a blog...
If anyone thinks they can follow my thought process, good luck...
